Dr. Afshar‘s interests include dental implant surgery as well as surgical and nonsurgical facial cosmetic procedures. This appreciation for facial aesthetics and proportion fuel his passion for full-mouth rehabilitation here at the Dental Implant Center. Dr. Andrew Afshar is originally from Northeast Ohio. While there, he earned his Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering and Natural Science from the University of Akron. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Case School of Dental Medicine in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
While in dental school, Dr. Afshar made the decision to specialize in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Southern California. He also completed surgical residency at USC, serving as chief resident in his final year. Finally, given his interest in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Afshar completed an accredited cosmetic surgery fellowship at the Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Murray, Utah.

Dr. Afshar is a dually-licensed dental specialist and physician. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society and has lectured nationally on cosmetic surgery. Outside of work, Dr Afshar is an avid sports fan and loves to take advantage of Michigan’s beautiful lakes.
