What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a natural-looking and permanent three-part tooth replacement option. Once the biocompatible implant post integrates with your underlying bone, it helps prevent further bone deterioration while preserving your facial structure. A small titanium piece called an abutment placed on or built into the top of the implant connects to the third component: a single dental crown, multiple crowns, or a full arch prosthesis.

Our Dental Implant Process

Our dental implant process is personalized to meet your specific oral health needs, smile goals, and budget. Consult and Planning

We will start with a consultation to determine if dental implants are the right solution to your oral health needs. We will discuss your dental concerns, smile goals, and medical history. Once we’ve determined if you’re a candidate for dental implants, we will obtain digital diagnostics, take digital X-rays, and use our cone-beam computed tomography scan to analyze your bone structure, nerve tissue, and sinus cavities. With this detailed treatment plan, we can provide a cost estimate and schedule your surgical visit.

Implant Procedure

In addition to local anesthetics, we offer sedation to deliver a comfortable and anxiety-free procedure. We will make small incisions in your gums and place four dental implants in predetermined spots using our All-on-4® dental implant protocol. Once your implants are inserted, we will attach an abutment connector and suture your surgical site. The next day, we will place your temporary prosthesis so you can enjoy your new smile while your mouth heals!

Healing and Final Restorations

Over the next 4-6 months, your implants will fuse with your jawbone to create a durable foundation for your final prosthesis. During this healing period, we will schedule routine checkups to monitor your healing and note tweaks we can make to your smile. Is your temporary prosthesis too heavy? Is it too light? Do you feel you’re able to eat your favorite foods without worry? Do you like the shape, color, and size of your teeth? These are adjustments we will want to ensure we get correct when we make your final restoration.

Once your gums have healed and your implants have completely integrated with your jawbone, we will insert your hand-crafted final prosthesis. This final restoration is completely customized to the last detail to ensure this smile is yours. With proper at-home care and routine checkups, your implants have the potential to last a lifetime!
